Abstract

Introduction: The 8th Albanian Congress of Trauma and Emergency Surgery (ACTES 2024), held on November 8–9, 2024, in Tirana, Albania, brought together regional and international experts in a vibrant exchange of ideas.

The congress aimed to spark scientific dialogue and share cutting-edge, evidence-based practices, all to elevate trauma systems and improve perioperative outcomes amid the growing challenges of acute surgical care.

Program Scope and Scientific Content: With its focus on "Trauma and Emergency Surgery, and not only..." the program directly addressed the complex realities of acute care. Attendees explored the latest breakthroughs in minimally invasive procedures, innovative bleeding control, advanced resuscitation, and damage control surgery. The event buzzed with plenary talks from renowned experts, dynamic peer-reviewed sessions, and lively panels debating clinical controversies. CME-accredited workshops provided hands-on training and access to the latest clinical guidelines, fueling continuous professional growth.

Conclusion: ACTES 2024 went beyond scientific excellence to make a lasting mark on surgical healthcare. The congress sparked new international partnerships, unveiled groundbreaking research, and welcomed technological advances from industry leaders. These achievements championed multidisciplinary, evidence-based care and laid the groundwork for continued progress in surgical education, clinical practice, and patient outcomes worldwide.
